Maintenance Technician A

Department: Maintenance
Location: Salt Lake City, Utah

This position will be responsible for examining and troubleshooting problems to diagnose the cause of a machine or equipment malfunction; perform repairs with minimal downtime; performs preventive maintenance.

Mechanical Responsibilities::
• Reading and understanding Engineering prints and schematics: Must be able to read basic engineering drawings, electrical/pneumatic hydraulic schematics, and understand the symbols, notes and applicable GD&T.
• Fabricating replacement parts: Must be able to fabricate replacement parts in-house for Hoyt OEM equipment and machinery. Fabricate parts for non-Hoyt OEM equipment when feasible.
• Assignment of Capital Improvement projects: Take the lead on all assigned capital improvement projects, at whatever stage it is handed over from the Maintenance Manager. This may include the creation of drawings and sketches, creating a Bill of Material, ordering or fabricating necessary parts, writing or editing PLC programs, assembling and testing the project for use by production, and address potential personnel and equipment safety issues.
• Installation of utility lines: Installs electrical distribution, up to 480 volts and 400 amps. Runs conduit, voice and data lines, liquid and pneumatic plumbing and air lines, as needed.

Major Equipment Servicing Responsibilities: The maintenance Tech A is also responsible to keep all major pieces of machinery and equipment running. This includes:
• Repair of major production equipment and machinery: Examine and troubleshoot problems to diagnose the cause of a machine or equipment malfunction. Dismantle, or partly dismantle, the machine, and perform repair with minimal downtime. Replace broken or defective parts with items from stock. Reassemble the machine or equipment to normal operating conditions.
• Work with outside contractors: Establish good communications with various outside contractors in achieving desired results for machine, equipment and facility maintenance projects.

Minor Equipment and Facility Service Responsibilities: The Maintenance Tech A will also perform equipment, process and facility maintenance tasks as assigned, or needed.

Training and Education:
Associate’s degree, completion of a related trade school program, or equivalent experience.

Required Prior Work Experience:
Machine Build experience 5+ years
Electrical, industrial wiring 5+ years
Major Equipment/Machine servicing experience,
in a manufacturing environment 5+ years
Basic carpentry. 1 year
Plumbing experience, including PVC, ABS, Black Iron 1 year

Plans and implements human resource projects and programs, including but not limited to staff planning, compensation, benefits, employee training and development, and employee relations.

Responsible for the development and management of organizational strategies related to all Human Capital
initiatives: Researches, analysis, and develops contributing information, and recommendations to company
regarding direction, needs, management, opportunities for improvement and development of employees.
Effectively plans designs, develops and evaluates human resource related initiatives that support the company’s
organizational strategic goals. Develops and implements various programs within Human Resources such as but
not limited to: staffing; EE training and development programs; benefits plans; policies and guidelines;
counseling and coaching; performance evaluations; compensation, and team building. Manages and controls

Helps develop and supports the company’s strategy: Contributes to the development and implementation of the company’s strategic operating plan. Establishes long and short term strategies for areas of responsibilities. Appropriately align department’s efforts to ensure strategic plan success and to improve overall business performance. Supports the cross-functional needs of the company in Engineering, Marketing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Sales, Customer Service, Accounting, IT, Human Resources, Legal, and all Administrative areas.

Develops and supports Hoyt’s human capital: Provides coaching and mentoring to department members. Conducts meaningful annual performance appraisals for all subordinates to identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for future development. Sets measurable objectives for subordinates that align with the department and company strategy. Provides all relevant functional and technical training to employees. Provides training and support to other departments as required or needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
This position requires:
 Knowledge of State and Federal employment and labor laws, as well as wage and hour laws.
 Knowledge of sound techniques in all aspects of personnel management and administration.
 Strong leadership and organization skills
 High-level of problem solving and decision making abilities.
 Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; as well as strong interpersonal skills.

Training and Education:
BA/BS degree required in Business Administration, Human Resources Management or similar discipline.

Quality Assurance Coordinator

The Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for maintaining systems which support the company’s objectives and continuous improvement efforts in order to assure customer satisfaction. This individual provides information, training, direction and support to internal customers, as needed, in order to achieve desired quality results. In addition, she/he defines measurements and reports on the status of systems, programs, and quality to management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Supervises Hoyt Management Systems: Under the direction of the QA Manager, this position will coordinate and oversee matters related to but not limited to: maintaining, and improving the Hoyt Management System ; calibrations; document control; departmental training matrix; corrective action (system feedback, system flag, and CPAC committees); and non-conforming product disposition. Administrates the flow of first article buyoff. Identifies opportunities for improvement and monitors actions to improve products, processes and systems. Provides resources for and conducts internal system audits. Assists with supplier certifications and evaluations.

Provides information and reporting to management: Measures and reports on suitability and effectiveness of the Hoyt Management system. Works with management on company-wide objectives. Collects quality metrics data including measuring and reporting on the status and trends of corrective and preventive actions. Measures performance of delivery to strategy. Measures and reports on non-conforming product and trends, product audits, warranty returns, and system feedback.

Directs the Quality Assurance activities utilizing the QA program and staff: Organizes and follows-up on significant projects; coordinates department activities. Implements current and/or new QA training and cross training. Will be trained in personnel matters including but not limited to: disciplinary action, conflict resolution, and team building at the sole discretion of the Quality Manager.

Develops and supports Hoyt’s human capital: Provides coaching and mentoring to department members.
