Continuous Improvement Coordinator

Hoyt Archery Company, a premier manufacturer of archery products, is looking for a talented Continuous Improvement Coordinator with broad-based skills and experience to join our Quality Department.

The Continuous Improvement Coordinator is assigned to gather information to evaluate current work processes in order to determine need for improvement in cost, flow, and productivity. Helps develop strategies and programs that improve the productivity and efficiency of the various work processes of the company. Develops and coordinates programs and instruct others in continuous process improvement activities. Perform other assigned tasks such as calibrations, document control, material review, data entry, and other assigned tasks. Also is responsible for supporting the Hoyt management system and the assurance of quality throughout the facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Continuous Improvement: Will create continuous improvement projects to help maintain and improve quality throughout the company while reducing costs. These projects will be derived from observations throughout the production processes and through the suggestions gathered from employees throughout the facility, and through continuous improvement meetings. Will assist production, engineering, and manufacturing to research problems and give recommendations to solve them. Will work with and create continuous improvement activities for the office groups and executive group including holding regular Executive CI Steering Team reporting meetings. Help to promote and facilitate lean manufacturing initiatives throughout the organization.

Inspection Sheets / Methods: Will help develop inspection methods and create inspections sheets and handle inspection drawings for new parts to use for production. All drawings and inspection sheets must be reviewed by engineering and management. Ensure that all new parts have inspection plans and inspection tools set up and implemented on the shop floor before the start of production.

Responsible to help Assure Quality in Production: Will help with the Material Review (MRB/DMR) process for production departments. Help collect, disposition, and analyze scrap problems that arise. Enter scrap data and disposition parts. Help analyze and resolve any major issues related to scrap and help with improvement projects.

Administrative work: Help manage the system flag process. Initiate, investigate, and assign non-conformances or any other potential issues or concerns. Help in resolving the root causes of issues to eliminate long term problems. Assist in the Document Control process by following standard work to control needed documents. Assist in the calibration process as needed to ensure all inspection tools are in good working order and up to date. Assist in standard work audits to ensure all standard work reflects the current best practice and there is no migration.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

 Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Metrology etc., or 5 – 10 years’ experience and some college
 1-2 Years of SPC Experience
 1-2 Years Quality Assurance experience in Manufacturing Environment
 Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
 Great organizational skills
 Project Management skills
 Ability to communicate, both verbally and orally, with all levels within the organization
 Active and pro-active team member attitude
 Excellent problem solving skills
 Basic metrology
 Self-motivated


PREFERRED SKILLS:
 3 Years ISO 9001 and document control and auditing experience

Maintenance Technician A

Department: Maintenance
Location: Salt Lake City, Utah

This position will be responsible for examining and troubleshooting problems to diagnose the cause of a machine or equipment malfunction; perform repairs with minimal downtime; performs preventive maintenance.

Mechanical Responsibilities::
• Reading and understanding Engineering prints and schematics: Must be able to read basic engineering drawings, electrical/pneumatic hydraulic schematics, and understand the symbols, notes and applicable GD&T.
• Fabricating replacement parts: Must be able to fabricate replacement parts in-house for Hoyt OEM equipment and machinery. Fabricate parts for non-Hoyt OEM equipment when feasible.
• Assignment of Capital Improvement projects: Take the lead on all assigned capital improvement projects, at whatever stage it is handed over from the Maintenance Manager. This may include the creation of drawings and sketches, creating a Bill of Material, ordering or fabricating necessary parts, writing or editing PLC programs, assembling and testing the project for use by production, and address potential personnel and equipment safety issues.
• Installation of utility lines: Installs electrical distribution, up to 480 volts and 400 amps. Runs conduit, voice and data lines, liquid and pneumatic plumbing and air lines, as needed.

Major Equipment Servicing Responsibilities: The maintenance Tech A is also responsible to keep all major pieces of machinery and equipment running. This includes:
• Repair of major production equipment and machinery: Examine and troubleshoot problems to diagnose the cause of a machine or equipment malfunction. Dismantle, or partly dismantle, the machine, and perform repair with minimal downtime. Replace broken or defective parts with items from stock. Reassemble the machine or equipment to normal operating conditions.
• Work with outside contractors: Establish good communications with various outside contractors in achieving desired results for machine, equipment and facility maintenance projects.

Minor Equipment and Facility Service Responsibilities: The Maintenance Tech A will also perform equipment, process and facility maintenance tasks as assigned, or needed.

Training and Education:
Associate’s degree, completion of a related trade school program, or equivalent experience.

Required Prior Work Experience:
Machine Build experience 5+ years
Electrical, industrial wiring 5+ years
Major Equipment/Machine servicing experience,
in a manufacturing environment 5+ years
Basic carpentry. 1 year
Plumbing experience, including PVC, ABS, Black Iron 1 year

This position will be responsible for helping direct the activities of buyers, the procurement of supplies, materials, and services that provide the optimum value for the company.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Responsible for the procurement and distribution of material, parts, equipment, and supplies for the organization by performing the following duties.

• Uses forecast generated by Production planning team to create stocking orders for inventoried items.
• Set’s up new suppliers by filling out credit applications, providing the company and setting the supplier up in the operations system.
• Solicits and evaluates proposals for requested commodities.
• Investigates and or interview’s potential new suppliers to determine if they meet the specified requirements.
• Negotiates the lowest possible cost for commodity balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs.
• Prepares purchase order bids, evaluates proposals and negotiates contracts within the scope of operating strategy.
• Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, on time delivery, quality performance records.
• Adjusts inventory levels up and down with seasonality trends and forecast requirements to ensure the proper amount of inventory. Works closely with suppliers to understand and reduce lead times.
• Works with international suppliers and shipping expeditors to make sure we receive the inventory on time and comply with all government regulations.
• Works closely with the Marketing department to ensure that proper inventory levels are maintained of promotional items.
• Works closely with Engineering during new product design and implementation. Recommends current suppliers or sources new suppliers for new product. As new technologies are introduced and become available, forwards information to Engineering for consideration. Works with engineers and suppliers to solve problems that arise concerning parts.
• Works with QA and Receiving regarding inspection & quality control to evaluate vendors and to determine and needed corrective action.

Quality Management System: Works with the Supply Chain Manager to communicate and resolve supplier quality alerts. With the assistance of suppliers, develops cause analysis and preventative actions plans.
Education and Experience
• Bachelors or associates degree in business or related field required
• 7+ years of purchasing experience required. Manufacturing experience preferred. Additional training and professional development through seminars and involvement in a professional association is encouraged.
• Array of commodity experience required
• General knowledge of computers and software packages such as Microsoft Word and Excel required
• Knowledge of supply chain management required

This position will be responsible for designing and creating compelling photography, video and other interactive experiences for consumers and retailers. The position requires internal and external client interface on assigned projects. Due to the expansive and ever-changing nature of marketing opportunities pertaining to the Multimedia Specialist, this job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of duties, responsibilities or qualifications associated with the job.
Core Responsibilities

• Collaborate with marketing team to determine creative and technical needs related to multimedia function. Create compelling multi-media content pertaining to both the creative and technical needs of marketing campaigns, promotional efforts and technical support.
• Responsible for the creation content to showcase products through in-depth reviews, advertisements and promotional videos on company websites, YouTube channel, TV and other social media outlets.
• While working together on overall direction with the Marketing Team, the Multimedia Specialist is responsible for storyboards, lighting, audio, composition, camera operation, dressing the scene and all post-editing processes for video productions. Knowledge of multimedia software programs such as Sound Booth, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Encore, Adobe Creative Suite CS6 and/or Final Cut Pro are essential. Knowledge of video formats and the ability to convert them as needed is essential.
• Coordinate and execute studio and location video shoots.
• Work closely with the Graphic Designers and is responsible to assist in manipulating graphic files as needed in InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Assist the Marketing Team on copy writes and script copy for advertising, radio scripts, TV spots and other promotional videos as well as relevant content and interactive media experiences through the social sites.
• Develop strategies to increase Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube fan base ad engagement by outlining a campaign calendar and conceptualizing tactics. Provide engaging and informative online content.
Job Requirements:
• Proficient in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Sound Booth, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Encore, Adobe Creative Suite CS6 and/or Final Cut Pro.
• Experienced in social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest and YouTube.
• Experienced and knowledgeable with professional grade cameras for both still photography and videography as well as lighting for both photography and videography both indoors and outdoors.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, multi-task and effectively manage time.
