Hoyt Shooters Dominate Indoor World Cup-Singapore

12/09/2013

Singapore- At the second stage of the World Archery, Indoor World Cup series, Hoyt shooters were firing on all cylinders in both Compound and Recurve categories.

Mike Schloesser (NED) was the top compound male during the qualification round with an impressive 598/600. Hoyt’s own Steve Anderson shot a solid 595 and Reo Wilde rounded out the third best qualification score of 593. Once archers were ranked, only the top 32 went on for the eliminations. Reo Wilde went on and dominated all that faced him, including his younger brother, Logan Wilde and Steve Anderson, who placed second and third respectively. All three of the Americans shoot the Pro Comp Elite series of bows.

The women’s compound qualifications were owned by Linda Ochoa (MEX) 589 and close behind was Erika Jones (USA) with a 588. As the matches progressed, Jones found herself in a familiar position, the gold medal match to face the Russian powerhouse, Albina Loginova. The two have met so many times before and this time the victory went to Jones. The number one ranked Ochoa, advanced to the bronze medal match and finished in fourth. Like the men, Jones, Loginova and Ochao all shoot the Pro Comp Elite series of bows.

Jean Charles Valladont (FRA) and Brady Ellison (USA) exchanged the lead during qualification numerous times and ultimately both tied with a solid 589. Ellison was not as fortunate as Valladont and was knocked out early in the 1/8 finals. Valladont dominated every match with his Hoyt Formula and brought home the gold for Team France.
