The US Target Nationals and Hoyt World Open held in Hamilton OH were once again dominated by Team Hoyt shooters. The US Target Nationals kicked off the four day event where archers compete in the classic FITA event, with distances of 90, 70, 50 and 30 meters, shooting 36 arrows at each distance. At the end of the grueling 144 arrows, all four national champions were wielding Hoyt. Brady Ellison—Men’s Recurve Champion, Katuna Lorig—Women’s Recurve Champion, Reo Wilde—Men’s Compound Champion and Erika Anschutz—Women’s Compound Champion.
The US National Target also acts as the qualification round for the Hoyt World Open. Archers go head-to-head in a single elimination format. Recurve archers shoot their matches at 70 meters, whereas the compound archers shoot theirs at 50 meters. When the nail-biting pressure of the elimination matches mounted, Hoyt shooters were once again atop of the podium. Brady Ellison—Men’s Recurve Champion, Heather Koehl—Women’s Recurve Champion, Reo Wilde—Men’s Compound Champion and Jamie Van Natta—Women’s Compound Champion.
