Team Hoyt total sweep in Nimes 2012

Team Hoyt

Hoyt Shooters Take All Titles- Second straight title for Ellison, third Nimes win for Unruh

The 15th European Indoor Championship in Nimes, France was again totally dominated by Team Hoyt, taking every Gold medal and 8 of 12 total medals in this intensely contested competition on the shore of the Mediterranean.
Once again Brady ELLISON (USA) wielded a Formula Series recurve to victory – this time in a close contest with fellow Hoyt Formula shooter Franck FISSEUX (FRA), a previous European Champion. Brady and his HPX/F7 delivered a stunning 48 consecutive 10’s in the elimination round after tying the World Record of 597/600 points in qualification the previous day. Franck and Brady traded 10 after 10 in the Gold medal match before thousands of screaming French fans, and in the final shootoff, Brady and Franck both scored a 10- with Brady’s fractionally closer to the center for the win!  The Bronze medal was won by Hoyt shooter Rick van der VEN (NED) in a match with Hoyt shooter Masimiliano MANDIA (ITA) to make it a total podium sweep for Hoyt.
Women’s recurve was won by Hoyt shooter Lisa UNRUH (GER) 6-4 in set play fior the Gold, and Olena KUSHNIRUK (BEL) taking Silver.  This makes three total wins in Nimes for Lisa.
In men’s compound action, Team Hoyt’s Sergio PAGNI (ITA) took his third Nimes title with surgical precision in a dominant romp over the opposition for the Gold Medal. Qualification was dominated by the incredible 598 score of Hoyt’s Jesse BROADWATER (USA).
In women’s compound, Hoyt shooter Danielle BROWN (GBR), two-time Paralympic Champion, dominated for the Gold Medal, and fans were treated to the triumphant return of Swedish legend Petra ERICSSON (SWE) to World Competition, with Petra taking the bronze medal after a nearly five-year temporary retirement from competition.
Hoyt wishes to congratulate all competitors for participating in this great competition!
The Nimes European Indoor is the second leg of the Archery Indoor World Cup, with the final leg taking place in Las Vegas next month. Follow all the action on Hoyt.com and Hoytrecurve.com!
