New World Record for Hoyt's Berengere Schuh

3/05/2009

New record score at World Championships

Rzeszow, Poland- March 5 2009

Hoyt recurve staff shooter Berengere Schuh of the French National Team has set a new World Record for the 60-arrow FITA indoor round today, at the World Championship taking place this week in Poland.

Berengere scored 592 of a possible 600 points to break the previous record of 591, which had stood for 12 years.  That record was set in 1997 by Hoyt shooter Lina Herasymenko of the Ukraine team.
Berengere has had a great year with her Hoyt bows, having taken Olympic team Bronze at the Beijing Games in August, and taking another winner's podium finish at the Nimes European Indoor at the start of this year.

Hoyt shooters took all of the top qualifier slots in both recurve and compound. Hoyt 's Natalia VALEEVA of Italy, multiple world indoor and outdoor champion, qualified second with a score matching the former record, while Hoyt and Easton’s Simon TERRY of Great Britain was the top men’s qualifier by a tremendous 5 point margin with his Hoyt GMX/990TX.

Competition continues through March 9.
