Hoyt's McGlyn slotted for World Field

6/10/2008

SPOKANE, WA – The extremely difficult shooting conditions tested the mettle of some of the country’s best shooters at the recent NAA National Field Tournament, but in the end, Team Hoyt once again rose to the occasion.

In Men's Recurve action, Hoyt Pro Staffer Joe McGlyn earned a spot on the podium with a strong second place finish, and also earned a spot on the U.S. World Field Team for a third consecutive time.  Joe took the silver at the World Field in 2004.

The two-day, FITA field-style event consisted of 24 unmarked-distance targets the first day and 24 marked- distance targets the second day. Extreme shots were the norm, with some shots as steep as 60 degrees and as far as 60 meters. The tournament is arguably the most difficult game in archery due to the terrain, shot angles, distances and unmarked yardage.
