Team Hoyt dominates Arizona Cup

4/15/2007

Hoyt shooters were on fire in the burning Arizona desert and took 8 of 12 medals including three first place finishes in the 2007 Arizona Cup.

Battling fierce winds and the challenge of the unforgiving 12 arrow Olympic round, Hoyt’s Braden Gellenthein followed his great World Indoor victory with a win at America’s first major outdoor event of the target season in the men’s compound division.

Not to be outdone, Hoyt’s Jahna Davis battled successfully against fellow Team Hoyt shooter Jamie Van Natta for the compound women’s gold medal. Hoyt’s Brittany Lorenti took the bronze in women’s compound.

Also winning a bronze medal, in men’s recurve, was USOTC Resident Athlete Dan Schuller, with his Hoyt recurve.

It was another epic battle in the women’s recurve division where Hoyt’s Karen Scavotto and Khatuna Lorig fought it out in the Gold Medal finals. When the dust settled it was Karen overcoming Khatuna by two points for the victory.

Hoyt is proud to support the Arizona Cup and USA Archery as exclusive corporate sponsor.
